The protection of your personal data is very important to me. I want you to feel safe when you visit my website. In the following I will explain which data is stored during your visit to my website and for what purpose.  

1. Who is responsible for the processing of your data?

The controller for the lawful processing of your personal data is Thierry Alen, Bargelaan 200, NL-2333 CW Leiden.  

2. Processing of user data

When you visit my website, the user data is stored in a log file on the server of our provider (transip bv, located at Schipholweg 9B 2316 XB in Leiden). This dataset contains the IP-address, which webpages have been accessed, from which website the access was made, the date and time when the website was accessed and a description of the webbrowser and the operating system used. These data are collected in order to make our web pages accessible, to detect and remedy any technical problems and to prevent and, if necessary, prosecute misuse of the website. They are only analysed in anonymised form for statistical purposes. The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Article 6(1)(a). 1 (f) Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – in the following ‘GDPR’).  

3. Data transferred when making contacts

On my website you have the possibility to voluntarily share personal data with me, for example by sending me an e-mail. This data (e.g. name, e-mail address, content of your query) will only be processed and/or used to process your queries. When needed to answer your questions, your data may also be passed on to companies within affiliated with `UBuy (my sole proprietorship) located in the Netherlands and abroad. Your data will only be passed on to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area with your explicit permission. The legal basis for processing the data outlined above is Article 6(1)(a) 1 (b) and (f) GDPR respectively, depending on the content of the contact person concerned.  

4. Use of cookies

In order to facilitate navigation, temporary cookies are stored when accessing individual web pages. These cookies expire at the end of the session. Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user’s hard disk and exchange certain settings and data with our system via the browser. A cookie normally contains the name of the domain from which the cookie data was sent and information about the age of the cookie and an alphanumeric identification code. Cookies enable us to improve your website experience and facilitate its use by, for example, storing certain data so that it does not have to be entered repeatedly. 5. Newsletter

When you sign up for my newsletter, your email address will be used for my own marketing purposes until you unsubscribe. In addition, when you enter title, first name and surname, the relevant data will be used to address you in the newsletter.If you have subscribed to my newsletter, you will regularly receive information about the topics you have chosen by e-mail. The e-mails can be personalised and personalised based on our information about you, e.g. your name and the subjects chosen by you in the subscription form. Subscribe to the newsletter only if you agree to the described analysis and the creation of profiles. Withdrawing your consent automatically means that you will no longer receive newsletters. 6. Remarks

In order to respond to this blog, you must enter a name and a valid email address. You may also use a pseudonym as a name. The email address will not be published. Attention: both the comments and the blog articles themselves are visible to the public and can be found through search engines. However, I reserve the right to review the comments submitted before publication and in certain cases to refrain from publication. When entering and publishing comments or other entries, we store the IP address, username, e-mail address and time of entry. This data is only processed for security reasons, as the provider of illegal content (forbidden propaganda, insults, etc.) may be held liable, even if it was created by a third party. In this case, the data serve to establish the identity of the creator. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.  

7 . Sharing data with third parties

I rely on the support of external service providers for certain technical data analysis, processing or storage processes or the implementation of my newsletter (e.g. to obtain aggregated, non-personal statistics from databases or to store backups or provide requested information material). These service providers have been carefully selected and meet high standards of data protection and security. They are obliged to observe strict confidentiality and will only process your personal data on my behalf and according to my instructions. The legal basis for the involvement of such service providers is Article 28 GDPR. .I work with companies and other entities that provide specialised expertise in special fields (e.g. tax consultants, lawyers, accounting firms, logistics companies). These entities are legally or contractually bound to secrecy. If a transfer of personal data to these entities is necessary, the legal basis is, depending on the type of cooperation, Article 6(1)(b) or (f) of the BNPR .With the exception of the cases described in this privacy statement, I will only pass on your personal data to third parties without your explicit permission, if we are obliged to do so by law or on the basis of an administrative or judicial directive.   h3>8. Storage period
The access data described under point 2 will be stored for a period of 60 days. The data described above will otherwise be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for the purposes described, provided that the legal provisions do not stipulate a longer retention period.

If you want access to or detailed information about the processing of your personal data, you can contact me at any time. You may also request to receive the data you have provided us with in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable form or to pass it on to a third party. If you discover that your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you may at any time demand that these data be corrected or supplemented immediately. Subject to the conditions set out in Articles 17 and 18 of the GDPR, you may also demand that the processing of personal data be deleted or restricted. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. If your personal data are processed on the basis of a balancing of interests within the meaning of Article 6(1)(f) of the Regulation, you have the right to object to this processing.
